Paul

Populating an Ark got me thinking about figure carving, which I haven't done in a long time.  Way back in 1996 I took a woodcarving class from Phillip Odden and Else Bigton in scandinavian woodcarving (mostly furniture and furnishings) but also an introduction into figure carving.  While I was there I met Harley Refsal who is Preofessor of Scandanavian Folk Art at Luther College.  Harley is relatively famous as far as woodcarvers go and has seen a lot of recognition for both his figure carving and promotion of Scandinavian folk art.

Attached is a "future self portrait".  I worked from a plan, but I don't remember if it was Else's, Phillip's, or Harley's

You are looking mightly fine Paul. Your posture need work but your carving talent does not. Great carving.
