I am sad to report that confirmation of Cliff's passing away was received. His obituary reads as follows:
Clifford Francis Strachan

It is with great sadness the family announces that Clifford Francis Strachan passed away on Thursday, April 18, 2019 at Beacon Hill Lodge, at the age of 87 years.

Clifford was born and raised in Winnipeg on December 2, 1931, graduated from Saint Paul's High School; then from Lakehead University with a B.A. in Economics, winning the Chancellors Medal for highest academic standing.  He tried different occupations, all with flying jobs top of mind.  Dad eventually became an Air Traffic Controller, he joined the DOT (Department of Transport) in 1960 and then was sent to the Fort William Airport.

Clifford married Marie in November of 1960 and their daughter Karene was born in 1962.

In 1972 he returned to Winnipeg to work at the Winnipeg Airport and retired in 1989.

Throughout his life he always had a desire to learn, travel and experience new things. He was always reading about or planning his next adventure.  Clifford had a life-long interest in aviation, holding a private pilot's license, and he owned and crashed at least one Tiger Moth. It was interesting to hear his stories, reflected in his Log Book being saved from the time.  In his latter years he built model airplanes out of balsa wood from scratch, featuring his beloved bi-planes.

Clifford was predeceased by his parents Harriet in 1974 and Philip in 1982.  He leaves to Mourn his Daughter and Son-In-Law, Karene (Chris). He made many friends at Beacon Hill Lodge and was well cared for on the 6th floor. we wish to thank them sincerely.
