Canadair CT-133 Red Knight 1/32 Scale (Completed 2 Nov 08)

This model is spruce construction(not recommended) made in the late 1990 while at Cold Lake AB. It has sported two colour schemes and is now being painted as a Red Knight aerobatic display aircraft of the RCAF/CF.

Stupid is as stupid does. That fit me lately. Please note that the forward bottom right hand tip tank is darker than the rest. That is because i forgot to paint the bottom of the aircraft before starting to affix the decals. The decals went on beautifully. I have another set drying as and I have painted the bottom of the aircraft. DaaaaaaH.

This model was built mid 1990s from scavenged wood found at the construction site in my subdivision. It originally started with standard silver and red markings of the 50s, graduated to the ghost greys of the late 90s and now has gone back in time to the early sixties with the Red Knight scheme. Who knows what the future will bring.

All decals are home made using Testor decal film and sealer. I was a dedicated Supercal user and had previously tried Testors system but was not satisfied with it. I friend at the local Mind Bender toy store recommended I try them again, and wow, what a difference this time.

Great work Lou,    I'd like to see a plastic model that old, having gone through three different paint schemes.    Are you going to finish the intakes and give it an exhaust though?      How you gonna' light the blower if it can't breath. . .

I have some pretty old plastics in my collection that have changed colours from timt to time. But that's another story. How is your model building coming along.

All on hold right now.    Though I did get a new Warren Deluxe Carving set and a 1960 Miss Bardahl U-40 model kit for my B-day. Part of an ongoing project to draw a set of Solid Thunderboat plans. They used to sell them on the 50's and 60's. I believe Garret posted some picks in the gallery somewhere.

I have also been very fond of the unlimited hydros, especially the old days of airplane engines.  Like land speed record cars, it can be hard to find documentation, though the cars are practically non-existent other than a couple of photos.

May be a good future cookup.  Thunderboats lend themselves to great paint jobs.
