Although the drawings have been printed for a few months, construction was started yesterday with wood selection and cutting the blocks for the major components. Today, after gluing the images, I block shaped the parts and contoured the wing. Despite being a 1/144 model, it is bigger than most 1/72 models in my collection.

It is my intent to do the Coastal Command colours for RCAF 422 Sqn

Engines with carburetor intakes attached to wing. Wing floats constructed and will be painted before attaching.

Lou, the bottom float contour of the fuselage is nicely carved. Beautiful shape.

Thank you Gordon and Fraser. I use a gouge followed by sandpaper wrapped around a dowel to shape the concave surfaces.

Painting is done and now the outrigger floats and beaching gear.

I really like the grey / cream color scheme. It gives the aircraft a solid look too.
