Three Douglas A-4 Skyhawks were assigned to do trials on HMCS Bonaventure in the 1960s. Research revealed we broke all three and the testing went no further. Here is a model of one of those A-4Es. A Sunday afternoon of fiddling with small parts. Need a magnifier!!

A good way to spend a Sunday afternoon.

I like the colour scheme you've chosen.

Did some quick calculations and came up with 3 inch wingspan .

Cheers

The fuselage is 3 1/3" with a span of 2 1/4 '. At 1/144 scale super details can be overlooked as long as it looks right from a few feet. She will grace my Bonnie when done.

All undercarriage legs and doors super glued in place and then sprayed semi-gloss white. Wheels are made and need paint. They will be the last to add after the decals are applied.

The A4 is such a compact little aircraft. Looking good!

Roll out 20 Dec 2020. These small gems can be done in a few afternoon's pleasure. I photographed it on my Bonnie as it would have been during the 1964 Trials.

Thank you Fraser. It takes less than 10 hours not counting drying time.
