Basic constituent bits for a DH Vampire F1 . There was one came to Australia which became A78-1 . All other Vampires were allocated code A79 and were built in Australia.
Booms and tailplane basswood . The rest is Balsa.

I'm going to leave the Avon for a little while . Some others are ahead of it on the list

Have been experimenting with a plunge molded canopy ( no good results yet ). I've had a canopy carved for sometime . I was and still make an FB 30/31 ( Australian Vampire) and either do it as
an all post office red one fro 25 Squadron or a target tug ( yellow and black stripes )

This will nicely in the 1st generation cook-up. I look forward to its project reports.

I like the Vampire. Last year, one gave a nice show in Abbotsford. It really looks unique from any angle.  There is also one down the road at a small museum here. http://www.canadianflight.org/content/de-havilland-vampire

Where the Vampire is at.
Nothing glued yet . Trying out a new primer .

I'm making up the inlets separately and then thicken the depth of the wing centre section.

Looking good so far. I also used pins to align Vampire my tail planes.

Interesting how the aircraft looks in its basics shapes. Very clean.

Doesn't look like much has been done.
Made the Starboard inlet from basswood and  Black plastic coffee cup top . Inboard from the booms the wings have been built up with polyfilla .
The new primer I am using works OK and is a lot cheaper than what I have been using . I've tried the PRU Blue and it seems to work OK.
Need to clean up the booms a bit more. Make the Port inlet. Have made the elevator mass balances out beaded pins sanded to shape.
Decals done . Not yet printed.

Intake looks good. Will the Vampire have undercarriage?

Lou

Thanks Lou.
Until you mentioned it it wasn't going to . But..............

I'll see how I go. Doing everything to the forward part without the booms attached.

Started to finish the Vampire off.

Wasn't happy with fin flash and number decals so made some more.

Elevator balances yet to be added.

Just some touching up and she is done.

The jet pipe is the subject of a current experiment.
