Decided on something a bit different.

All the basic bits are done . Just the fiddly bits to do wheels, engine , linkages, rigging and a pilot.

Fuselage was shaped then cut to fit a 1/64 ply box which is the cockpit.

A bit of progress.

Engine mount / wing pivot from brass rod. Wing actuating links from brass rod.
Wheels from 1/64 ply hub. Tyres are strip of plastic. details in thin copper wire.

Engine started.

Update on the "Flea"

Engine mounted. Waiting the arrival of replacement rigging thread. I can't find since the Macchi. Harrumph!

rigging attachment points from sardine tin lid cut out with aviation tin snips.

Dual tail wheel done with two halves of epoxy in a blue tack mold.

So nearly done.

My replacement ez line has arrived so can do the rigging and she's finished.

Should be done by next weekend.

Interesting model. There is a prototype Flea at the local aviation museum. I think the original owner flew it just enough to scare himself.

Must have scared himself a bit.
There was an issue whereby if the front wing angle of attack was greater than 15 degrees. The airflow from it over the rear wing would increase . Increase the lift of the rear .
Then you enter an uncontrollable dive. They stuck one in a wind tunnel and worked it all out. The later ones a apparently safer.

Anyway she's finished. There are as usual some omissions . Some not quite rights. But if squint from 3 feet away it looks like a "Flea".
