Long time between models for me. I'm pretty rusty, and it shows in the latest addition to the Model Menagerie: a Hawker Hart.; 1:40 scale. From the Hawk plan.

Beautifully done. You really captured the lines of the Hart.

From my perspective you certainly haven't lost your touch. A great jog on the ribbing!! Which tools / method did you use to shape the wing ribs with? They look very realistic, especially were the troughs have been feathered.

A great job!! Certainly a level for a newbie such as myself to aspire to.

Thanks. The wing and tailplane ribbing was done along the lines described by Lars and Garet in their tutorial, though I didn't follow through quite to the extent they did. I essentially just marked out the rib location in pencil from the plan and used fine grit sandpaper wrapped around a variety of roundish object (pencils, tubing, etc.) to sand in the troughs between the ribs.

The ribbing on the turtleback is narrow strips of blue painter's tape laid down and painted over, first with clear varnish and then with silver paint.
And so it goes...
