We have an event called a kitchen party where various musicians play and we have a sing song. One instrument frequently found at these events are spoon. Originally, ordinary metal table spoons were used but some players turned to either home or factory made wooden spoons. They have a deeper tone and will sound different depending on the design and type of wood used.

Mine are one piece from birch firewood. I still need to hollow out the spooning part.

Very nice, Lou! I too have a set of spoons which I like to play.

I also have a small band (four of us) that plays for retirement homes etc...this past Wednesday we played for the local  hospice.
We call ourselves "The kitchen party"

The difficulty comes when I put down my harmonicas to pick up my spoons.... I can't play both at the same time, and the band prefers my harmonica....Priorities!
