Jimmy's Racers
Racers - from Michaels $1.50 kits. We've got a bunch so check back regularly :-)

These are nice little kits for youngsters. They're so cheap that it's fun to just whack 'em together. For a five year old, I do help him with glue up (he paints on the glue and I hold the trickier parts together. I did the wheels, he did the rest. The colour schemes were all Jimmy :-) I painted the purple one!

Nice, I was just thinking of the Boys Scouts slot racers(?) and if it would be feasible to make one and use Hotwheel running gear to make it go faster. Never went beyond the dream stage. Tell Jimmy I like his better. !!

This brings back memories. I once went to the state competition with my Pinewood Derby car, nicknamed "The Green Banana". I filled the grain with spackle and painted it with model airplane dope. My children have also built some of the Michaels kits -- a submarine, a helicopter, and a boat -- and enjoyed them.
