Avro 504K

Happy Thanksgiving everyone!

New submission is an Avro 504K in 1:72 scale. Typical construction: basswood, mahogany propeller and undercart skid, carved pilot and student, laserjet decals and rub-out transfers for numerals, O-ring tires, painted fishing line rigging...

The color scheme replicates the reproduction post-war Avro trainer at Old Rhinebeck Aerodrome in Dutchess County, upstate New York. That particular aircraft has had hard luck in recent years, with several crashes and forced landings caused by engine failures. It's currently undergoing major repairs.

Thanks, gents. Jordan: Love your recent contributions. Don't fear the bipes! They've got lots of little fiddly bits, but that's part of the fun. Lou's trick of building a wing alignment jig out of popsickle sticks, then running the interplane struts through the wings and trimming them off flush takes most of the dread out of it!Next up is a Junkers J-1...

Not that specific plan, Louis, although it's very good. The plan I'm using is from the Windsock Datafile, #39.
I like the Datafiles because they give you drawings already scaled to 1:48 AND 1:72, which means I don't have to mess around with re-sizing.
