I was able to get the hole drilled for the top turret tonight using a spade bit. I went ahead and made a turret as well. The pictured turret was my second attempt. I chucked a 1/2" dowel into my drill and used a sanding stick to shape it.

Nicely done turret.

I was able to get the lower fuselage carved and rough sanded. I'll still need to draw the parallel lines on it to check the shape. Next will be working on getting the nacelles finished up and glued to the wings, followed by the intakes and things.

I drew on the canopy frames and nose just for fun:

I agree with Dave.

I got started on some of the details on the engine nacelles. I've got pieces cut for the upper air intakes. I'm still thinking about how to do the lower ones.

My progress has been slower this last week. I was able to make the upper air intakes out of 5mm basswood I had. I think they're a bit "chunky" at the moment. I will likely sand them down and try to blend them into the nacelle a bit more. I would still like to add the lower air intake and the exhaust tubes on the nacelles. Then on to the cheek gun "pods" on the fuselage before assembling it.

Looking good Jordan.

I still need to do this step. My model is basically the B-26A version, so the intakes are much less pronounced that the later version like yours. Looks good so far.

Thanks for the kind words, everyone. I'm still scratching my head on how to do the lower intake. Looking at it, it might have been easier to carve that into the nacelle from the beginning. Oh well, I'll figure something out. I'm not about to start over on the nacelles again.

I've got the exhausts put on one of the nacelles, no pictures yet, though.
