This method of mounting models allows for a variety of "angles of attack"

I bend the plexi with a heat gun after polishing. The magnets come from Lee Valley and and are "rare earth" I use a 1/2" forstner bit to insert the magnet with a bit of clear gorilla glue. The cup is held on with a #4 X 3/8" wood screw and a bit of glue.

The part numbers are: Magnet - 99K38.51  Cup - 99K32.52

Another advantage is the ease of separating the model from the base for packing, storing etc.
