That looks like an F-86 Sabre to me! I'd like to build one of those for my brother sometime. He likes them in natural metal with the large yellow and black bands on them.

What kind of wood are you using? It doesn't look like your usually pine to me.

Are you planning on having it done by August 10th or is your time zone in Canada a month ahead? 😆

This one is made from recycled mahogany baseboards from renovations I did in 2019. I wanted something simple for a summer build, as my children are visiting until mid-Aug.

Ooh, mahogany! Very nice. Are you going to paint it or keep it natural wood? I imagine the mahogany would look very nice all smoothed and polished up.

Nice progress! How will you attach the horizontal stabilizers?

I will butt-joint the stab. I have tried to notch them with little success.

I'm considering doing an F-84. Do you put any dihedral in the wings? The drawings I have make it look very slight, if it all.

It is slight. Take note of the parts breakdown. I run the wood grain along the leading edge of the wing.
The dihedral is approx 1/8" at the tips.

Very nice! I like the F-84. I've thought about building the full evolution of Republic planes, from the Seversky P-35 all the way through to the A-10 Thunderbolt II.
