Title: 1/48 SNECMA C 450 Coleoptera Completed 24/12/25
Post by: Boomerang on December 24, 2025, 11:18:49 PM
I started this about mid year.
the ring wing is formed with 3 `thicknesses of 1/16 balsa around a Tamiya spray can which matches with internal diameter of the wing.
Auto spray silver.
An advantage is no propeller, decals or rigging.

Something a little bit different.

Cheers

Wow, what a pleasant year-end project. It is marvellous.

Certainly a novel approach. The finish looks great!!The colour of the windscreen really compliments the metal finish.

Very unique subject and excellent finish. The landing gear is very detailed. Is it all wood?

Jordan,

The undercarriage is 4mm square wood with a 1.5 mm brass rod. Wheels are insulated wire wrapped around a bamboo skewer. The mountings are cut from 2 layers of card PVA'd together and cut out with a piece of wire as the hinge. I didn't have any plastic card.

Seems to do the job.

Cheers
