At long last! I mentioned sometime ago that I'd had a project disaster involving a German Hannover two-seater, where the lozenge-decal coverings on the wings began disintegrating on me, and I wound up tossing several months worth of work into the trash can. I did manage to salvage a few key parts from that wreck: prop, gun, wheels, struts, etc.
These I put to work recently on a second attempt at the Hannoveraner (as the British called it at the time). I also took a stab at replacing the water slide lozenge decals with ones made from tissue printed on a laser printer, touched up here and there with brush-painting. The results were mixed, and are offered here for your evaluation. Hope you enjoy...
The rest...
A great job on the lozenge camo. The model looks great!!
I was not familiar with the lozenge pattern and so did some internet surfing. Not sure what initial material the first attempt used. I can certainly see advantages of using patterned tissue paper which I suspect is more flexible than the original decals, but no doubt more fragile.

A beautiful rendition of the Hannover CL III. An excellent addition to your flight line.

What scale is this beauty?

Excellent build! The camo is certainly stunning. Well done!
I believe it's 1:60. Started out to be 1:72, but somewhere, probably in the scanning process, the plans got slightly enlarged. Didn't even realize it until the parts had been built. When I went to print the decals, which had been purchased from an aftermarket source and scanned, they suddenly were too small. After several unsuccessful tries, I found they needed to be enlarged to 122%. Pretty strange. The only real down-side is that the aircrew figures ended up a bit too small. Oh well. Can't win''em all...
Thanks.
