I accidentally started another project last night. I had some scrap 1x4s that seemed to be calling to me. I had the WWII ID plans printed out in 1/72 scale for the Wildcat, so I went ahead and got the wings started. Boy, this is addicting stuff!

I got the wings shaped last night. I had a piece of poplar that was a good width for the fuselage, but it is proving tricky to work with. I'll have to switch to pine for that.

Excellent mating of the wing to the template. I still have problems with that.

I have to say it was pure luck. I started carving with the lines drawn (as you can see) for guides, but then by the end I was just eyeballing it. Using my "eyecrometer" as someone on another forum I visit says.
I use the Eyeball Mk I for all my models.

I was able to get the fuselage and tail pieces cut out yesterday.
