3/8" = 1' scale (1/32) Beechcraft Baron work in progress. Made from aspen (fuselage) and pine from three view found in an old Jane's aircraft recognition book.
Photo shows wood burner (with homemade temperature controller) used to create panel line and flight control surface outlines- the knife blade attachment makes panel lines; the thicker brass attachment is used for deeper control surface outlines. Scotchbrite pad and steel wool are used to clean up the surface after burning in the panel lines.
Pounce wheel and gear each had the teeth filed to a point to make "." instead of "-" indentations; these tools are used to emboss rivet detail on the model surface.
