Aztec and Cessna 310 In Primer
1/32 Piper Aztec and Cessna 310. Panel lines and control surfaces have been engraved on the Aztec using a knife blade attachment in a wood burner. Openings in cowling made with Dremel tool. Basswood floats are in front of Aztec—bamboo skewer temporary handles will be removed from floats. Cessna has been primed, puttied and sanded- wet sanding to remove scratches and another coat of primer to follow. Tools in foreground are Artist’s Palette Knives – find them in the paint department at craft stores (Michaels, Hobby Lobby…). These flexible stainless steel spatulas are ideal for applying putty and filler. Use a razor blade to scrape clean. Emery cloth in foreground was used to sand the Bondo glazing putty. I prefer emery cloth to sandpaper for this step.
