1929 Hamilton Metalplane 1/72 scale built in 1997

1929 Hamilton Metalplane in 1/72 scale. I built this model in 1997 after working on the restoration of the real aircraft. Northwest Airways flew a fleet of six of these back in the 1930s - it was a contemporary of the Ford Trimotor, used on shorter routes. I simulated the corrugated metal skin by dragging a comb-like tool through freshly applied artists gel media on the model.
