Fairchild 24 side

3/8" = 1' scale Fairchild F24 model made from Donald W. Clark plans which appeared in Popular Science Illustrated magazine in the 1930's. Model made from basswood and pine. Registration number on tail is a water slide decal made using an Alps printer. Navigation lights were made from colored plastic drink stirring sticks found in a grocery store. Masks for windows made by tracing over the plans through tissue paper. The tissue paper tracings were glued to masking tape and masks for the windows cut from the tape using a sharp Exacto knife. The masks were then applied to the model and Testors steel enamel applied. Masks for yellow trim were made the same way
