1/32 Piper Aztec float plane. Model constructed from pine from 3-view drawing found on internet. Floats are from basswood.
Model was painted using Testors and Kustom Kolor (flat white) enamels. This was the first time I used Valspar Kustom Kolor paint and it gave excellent results; that paint line was briefly available at the local WalMart before they stopped carrying model supplies.
Floats are covered with aluminum foil using MicroScale foil adhesive following the technique described in an article from the July 2002 issue of FineScale Modeler magazine. The key is to use the cheapest foil obtainable: cheap foil means it is thinner which is best for this purpose. The anti skid surfaces are made from flat black painted tissue paper applied with a glue stick. Panel lines and control surface demarcations were made using a wood burner before the model was painted.
