WACO S3HD Side
|
1/32 Waco S3HD from Donald W. Clark plans. Cowl made by inserting a dowl in a pine blank piece, chucking the dowl in an electric drill and spinning blank against a rotating sanding disk. Cowl was then hollowed out using a Dremel tool. Speed bumps on cowl made from tear-drop shaped styrene pieces glued to the sealed/primed cowl and faired in with putty & thick primer. Engine is an epoxy casting of a master made years ago. Wing struts are sanded/sealed bamboo strips. Landing gear struts made by slipping brass tubing over bamboo skewers and flattening. Rigging is fishing line inserted into predrilled holes and tightened by heat from a wood burner. Propeller filed from aluminum blank smoothed with steel wool & polished. Propeller boss is styrene tube.
