Title: SE-5a
Post by: Jim on July 31, 2019, 09:11:20 PM
Just got around to taking some pix of the latest addition to the Atkins Aerodrome:  An SE-5a of 56 Squadron, RFC. Not the usual Wolseley Viper-powered SE, but the earlier geared 200-hp Hispano-Suiza-powered model with the high thrust-line drive shaft and 4-bladed prop. Approx. 1:50 scale. Basswood fuselage, wings and tailplane, bamboo struts, laminated walnut and mahogany prop, monofilament fishing line and old banjo strings for rigging, home-made decals and rubber O-rings for tires.

Nicely done. The rigging and rib stitching really make this model come alive. Thanks.
