Title: Spad A-2
Post by: Jim on March 15, 2022, 09:13:45 PM
Spad A-2 in Russian markings. Gives a fairly good impression why this machine wasn't popular with observer/gunners!

Standard basswood, poplar and bamboo construction. About 1:60 scale. Aftermarket decals for a different model, scanned, resized and printed on a laserjet printer.

Awesome Spad A-2. Not of the best known biplanes, however you did a fantastic job. Thank you for posting.

I had a closer look at your rigging and you did an excellent job. Those close up shows really shows your talent. Congratulation on such a realistic build.

I agree with Lou that it is a very well done model. Lots of rigging nicely detailed along with the small details.

I think that I can understand why it was not too popular for the gunner / observer! The basket behind the gunners head was most assuring to him.... The design of whether to build a pusher or tractor configuration seems to have been decided by a coin toss...and the coin landed on edge.

Thanks for showing another unusual aircraft that I did not know existed!
