Title: Airplanes in Bottles
Post by: Peter on May 03, 2012, 05:24:36 AM
I have built two ships in bottles and loved the challenge. I am planning on building some of the ship plans in the gallery section as ships in bottles. Anyway I came across this guy who builds planes in bottles!!! It would make for some interesting challenges.

Here's how he does it

Maybe we should invite him to join our solid fraternity?

Excellent!  Thanks for the links.  I keep an eye on the bottle modelers if for no other reason than to peek at their techniques for very small models.

I once saw a film of a mariner building a ship in a bottle, how he made it was to assemble it with the details like sails etc folded down, the ship was inserted into the bottle onto a layer of soft putty, once dry he pulled the cord and the sailing ship sprung into life ! simply amazing.
