The AirToon elves have been busy. An RCAF CT-156 Harvard II equivalent to a USAF T-6 Texan II. (Part 4)

As per most of the projects, the CT-156 is made from clear pine and painted with Model Master paints. Decals are from Mike Grant's wonderful CT-155 1/48 scale decals sheet with some allowances with home made decals for doing a CT-156. The Harvard II consists of a main wing with dihedral carved in, a fuselage, a vertical tail and three piece horizontal stab. Undercarriage are dowels of various sizes. Doors are thin mahogany from my stock of recycled baseboards. The AirToon profile is based on a drawing by Laurent Chassard at http://winglets.over-blog.com/. The model now resides with others of her kind.

Thank you Paul. Your comments are well appreciated. At last count I have 23 AirToons on my shelf. I need to make cabinets to control the dust a bit better.

How did you make your prop blades Lou, and how did you attach them?. I have some thin birch/beech than can be soaked and twisted or have you shaped them? Regards Paul J.

I shaped each blade starting with a 2mm X 4mm X 25mm piece of wood. I inserted a 3mm piece of straight pin at one end for attaching to the spinner. Trying to explain is hard so I will do a blade tonight and take pictures.

Paul, I placed a tutorial on blade twist at http://smm.solidmodelmemories.net/SMF/index.php?topic=1013.0
I hope this helps you out.

An earlier F-18 will receive undercarriage to join the remaining F-18 fleet.

Looks better with undercarriage.
