First flown in 1958, the Caribou has soldiered on for numerous air forces and now continues on as an old pickup truck. My model will be a white RCAF bird used for United Nations work. I chose 1/144 to match my DHC-5 Buffalo. The drawings have been scaled and work will start shortly. I have added a link to a photo of the paint scheme I wish to produce. Long range plans will expand the UN collection.

If interested we could do a UN bird cook-up. UN colours have even been applied to MI-35 Hind helicopters.

The Caribou has been a busy aircraft. Here is the list from Wikipedia. I am sure that a cartels lords also had them due to their versatility with unprepared field. The UN is not listed seperately as aircraft are not transfered from the host country's ownership

Lou,

I have been thinking of a Caribou for a while.
Plan to scale drawings down to 1/144 along with Herc, Orion and Neptune.
My older brother flew the 'Bou in vietnam with "Wallabie Airlines'.

Cheers

Gordon

I sent you the drawings I will be using already scaled down to 1/144 on 8.5 X 11 paper. Should you have better than those, a copy would be appreciated as I have yet to start the project.

Your Caribou is looking really good Lou. I particularly like the way you've made the inverted gull wing to fit.

Primed and first gloss white applied. I ran out of white primer and my gloss can does not have much left in it. I hope enough to finish the Caribou.
