There are some good colour schemes around for the Val.
I've put my drawings away.
Cheers
Gordon
I hope putting your drawings away does not mean you are quitting solids.
Lou
No Lou,
I look at my stash and sort of go yeah and then put them away until later.
I work on if I'm nearly finished one I can cast around for another to start.
I find solids challenging and relaxing with a sense of achievement when I finish one.

Wood has been selected and rough cut.

A bit more done today.

Wing is shaped and sanded. As I was putting it away I noticed the pattern created by craving the dihedral in the one piece wing.
Lou
Fuselage is carved and rough sanded. The wings is 1mm too thick. That will be another day.
Lou
Coming along nicely Lou.

Thank you Gordon. The Val is currently #3 on my priority list. My first 1/72 "Spat" aircraft. Someone mentioned a cook up some time ago.
Lou
Always looking at planes with spats mackes life a little bit easier.

Horizontal tail plane and main wing glued awaiting filler and shaping of the bottom fuselage plugs.
Lou
The wing is a very nice shape. Reminiscent of the spitfire.
Thank you Fraser. It does have that elliptical shape we have learned to love.

Coming along.

Lot to be said about spats.
Looking forward to the finished model.

Grey paint applied by brush. It is the first "Trucolour" paint job. It goes on very nicely and covers on the second coat. It has acetone so ventilation is needed even if you only brush it on. The cowl will be black.

Only two major errors that I may fix at a later time. As is, a fairly simple build using WWII ID method.

Additional photos.
Very nice indeed Lou, looks great, regards Paul J.
Thank you Paul. That make my 26th WWII ID Plus models. Another couple are in progress.

Hard to land a carrier plane without an arrestor hook. Fear not, my Val now has a hook.

Clarification. The Aichi D3A Val is incorrectly identified as the KI-99 in a number of places on line and even in our gallery. I have corrected the image tittle to reflect the Aichi D3A in the gallery but cannot change the file name.

Another terrific model Lou.
