Something a bit different for my 1/32 collection. I have an Ercoupe and will make a stablemate. Pictures to come shortly.

Thing do not get more basic than this. Source is a basswood plank purchased some time ago.

Even in 1/32 scale the Musketeer is not a big aircraft with a wing span of 12.28 inches. The image is on a legal size paper sheet.

Finally assign a bit of time (15 Minutes) by cutting the major components on the band saw.

Contour carving started. Somehow lost my vertical fin so another had to be fashioned in two pieces.

How do you get such a crisp cut on the windshield to the cowl while retaining the windshield curves?

My method of carving canopies are here http://smm.solidmodelmemories.net/SMF/index.php?topic=234.0 and here http://smm.solidmodelmemories.net/SMF/index.php?topic=1555.15

The Charger canopy is a closer fit to the Musketeer's windscreen.

The upper fuselage has been sanded and the wing foil shaping started.

Vertical fin glued and fuselage sanded ready for primer. The wings require much sanding. Lower photos a must in shaping the fuselage.

Undercarriage is copper wire with a wooden fairing. Paint has been purchased.

Remarkable workmanship as usual Lou! Thanks for showing the paint supplies. How long do you wait for masking and is the finish sandable.

I usually sand several coats of primer until most of the grain is gone followed by thick primer coat that needs to dry fully. I then add the lighter colour followed with the darker. I this case yellow will go on first. The black anti-glare and wing walk panel will be last.

Musketeer is in the paint shop for some more primer over the corrugated control surfaces. I was going to use a coarse thread but that was not working out. I purchased some 1 mm tape that seem to do the job better than thread.

Looks very convincing. How do you maintain the even spacing?

The spacing was measure with a ruler and marked out at 5 mm apart. Once those were on I just placed the others in the middle using the Mk I Eyeball. The Musketeer is in the drying shop for the next two days before masking and painting the yellow. I was planning on painting the yellow first until I noticed the corrugated control surfaces.

Two days of heavy rain and very high humidity delayed applying the yellow. Now 3 days to cure and the yellow will be applied to the top side.

Decals are printed but damp weather is holding back the clear gloss spray.

Roll out 13 September 2020. Note older scheme with CANADIAN ARMED FORCES on port side and FORCES ARMÉES CANADIENNES
on starboard.

Your model has a " crisp" look to it. The detailing and eye-popping paint scheme really bring the model to life. Fantastic job Lou!

Thanks
