Title: Paint shaker
Post by: Gearup on March 23, 2019, 11:36:29 PM
Here is a paint shaker I built using scraps most of us would have around the shop.
The construction picture is self explanatory.
I used 1/4 inch ply for the arm and 1/2 inch for the base. 1.25"x 3/16 screw and nut. 1-1/2 x 3/4 thick hard wood down or a cut disk if using plywood. The bungee can be 1/8" shock cord or rubber bands.

Mount the disk offset from centre to creata an eccentric. Use a 1/4" bolt. Epoxy the bolt or counter sink for a nut as well did. Just make sure it is secure to the disk.

Drill a hole in through both pieces of the cap big enough to allow the end of a the paint bottle pass though.

Wax the eccentric surface to make it run smoothly. Make sure the bungee tension will hold the arm against the minor height of the eccentric and also make sure the bungee can stream games to the max height of the eccentric when it is rotated.

Darn this auto correct. " bungee can stretch to the max height" not stream games🙄

Thanks. I've refined the design and made it a bit more compact. Works great.
