At time, non SMM members forward photos of their models. These I normally post to the general section where they are quite often quickly forgotten and hard to find. This post will hopefully resolve this issue. Should these modelers become members I will transfer the photos to their project boards.
Lou
The first is Bill S and his beautiful Panthers he makes and donated to sick children.
Lou
Second view of Bill S' wonderful Panther.
Lou
A few more models from Bill Schwander. Bill makes multiple models and donates them to children.
Lou

Lou
A few more pictures of Bill's Panthers.
Lou
Another of Bill's project, a Cessna A-37.
A very nice collection of models there Lou, some nice work by Bill. Regards Paul J.
A few new photos from Bill.
Lou
Sharp looking A-37 from Bill.
Lou
I agree it does look sharp. Well done to Bill.
Gordon
Bill just completed what I consider to be a magnificent A-37.
Lou
Bill S has created two beautiful models. A PBY Catalina and a Bamboo Bomber.
Lou
Very nice work indeed Bill, I particularly like the A-37. Best regards Paul J.
Well Done ! Bill.
Cheers
Gordon
Bill tell me he has not been well lately, however this does not seem to have affected his modelling skills. Here is a beautiful Typhoon and a Tomahawk cruise missile.
Lou
Here is a miniature gem at 1/230 scale. The Air Tractor was constructed by Dave T, a former SMM member.
Lou
Here is a second 1/230 scale "Small Gem" from Dave. The Piper Cherokee is a marvelous reproduction.
Lou
Nice work Bill. I congratulate your generosity
Another little beauty by Bill Schwander . This time a box scale B-52 with a 15" wing span.
Lou

Here are some wonderful 1/230 scale in a desert setting from my friend Dave. These are quite detailed for the scale he uses.
Lou
Those are amazingly detailed models, regardless of scale ! Thanks for sharing.
Fraser
Agree with Fraser ! Thanks for sharing.
Gordon
With Tim Eckensviller's permission, I bring you his Curtiss-Wright CW-21 Interceptor built from the old pre-WWII Comet plan.
Lou
Another beautiful model from Tim.
I quote"This P-51B is the first solid model I built, probably 22-23 years ago in my early teens. I forget what plan it was from but I had borrowed an unbuilt original kit from a friend's collection and copied everything. The propeller blades are brass tubing squished flat and carefully formed to shape.
I've never been a good painter and at the time was too scared to ruin it with a bad paint job so it remains in sealer only. At this point it's been that way so long that it will stay that way." Unquote
Lou
I like the idea of brass tube squashed flat for propeller blades
Gordon
The PBY amongst the trees just needs a plume of water covering the model stand and it would look like a fire-bombing scene in Canada during 60's. Very nice. I also like the Crane sitting on the blue runway in the forest!
Good job.
Fraser
John C has started a 1/72 scale Texan/Harvard.
Lou
With Jehh Krete permission I bring you a fantastic P-51 Mustang and a BF-109 Emile.
In a couple of words "Absolutely brilliant" its a standard to aim for.
Cheers
Gordon
With Scott Brown's kind permission's I bring you his Boeing 747.
Lou
The bare finish works well with the grain on the fuselage. Looks good.
Fraser
Scott indicated he would give more photos of completed models. I also extended an invitation to join us.
Lou
Love it.
Can't wait to see more of Scott's work.
Gordon
Here is a beautiful Beech Bonanza from Scott Brown. I hope he gives me more photos.
Lou
I found another carver in Cencu Cordona. His magnificent Supermarine Scimitar is in a class by itself. The fidelity to details and finish ranks him as an extraordinary modeler and amongst the best I have ever seen. I certainly hope he will post more of his tremendous talent.
Lou
Excellent model.
The Scimitar has always been on my to do list.
Gordon
Do you know the scale?
The scale is 1/72.
Lou
I too would like to see more of these models. I like the construction shots.
I extended an invitation to join us, however he has yet to respond.
Lou
The weathering and cockpit details really add to the model..nice.
Fraser
Here are some more treasured from Censu. His earlier build have little or no construction photos. Censu's models are 1/72 scale
Douglas C-133 Cargomaster
Hawker Siddeley Andover
Lou
Censu's models are all magnificent. As usual, they are 1/72. Unfortunately there are no build photos.

Lou
Those are impressive. How do you know him?
Truely amazing.
Gordon
Absolutely breathtaking!
Fraser
More magnificent modelling skills from Censu.
Lou
Censu's Vickers Vanity.

The subtle weathering of the model is very effective. I have much to learn....
Fraser
I too have much to learn. Superb models.
Gordon

BAe 146
Airbus 319
A very nice English Electric Canberra in 1/120 and a Lockheed L-100 Hercules in 1/100 scales. Both are hand made.
Lou
Tom Paul is my latest find. He makes solid wood cars and trucks on a very small scale. Here are a two of his models.
Lou
Those are really cool models! What scale is he working with?
Fraser
I would say 1/144 or a bit smaller judging by the hand. Mostly he is box scale.
Lou
Quality and skill to aspire to.
Terrific models.
Gordon
Here are more of Tom's miniatures. He also has a line of clothespin models that I will post in due time. Those grid lines are in centimeters.
I have invited him to join us.
Lou
Another use for clothespins from Tom
Lou
Brilliant! Now I can't look a a clothespin without seeing a fire truck, heavy hauler........
Looking forward to more models of these style.
Fraser
These are featured on my Facebook group. https://www.facebook.com/groups/633532640369265
Lou
The degree of creativity and level of minute detail of the clothes pins are truly amazing!! And to boot - they don't take up much shelf space.
Omar is a member of my Facebook Solid Wood Model group. He posted the following photos of his F3B.
Lou
Love it !
I was a bit "frightened" of corrugated surfaces but not anymore.
When and if you can Lou could you find out some details please..
- scale
- size of thread on tailplane and whether doped/sealed first. It looks like a variation on the way I do it.
Cheers
Gordon
I will ask. I know it is 1/36 scale. I will invite him to join us.
Lou
Here is a CF-100, an ME-109, a Mustang and, a Zero carved by Barry. He has recently found the call to become a solid wood builder. We are friends on Facebook and I will ask him to join us.

Outstanding workmanship to get the detail. Looks like a great technique to get the depth of the ribbing. Love the cylinders too.

I'm finally in and extend my thanks to Louis for helping me get situated. So happy to be here!
Welcome Nick. I am happy to see you join us.
Lou
here is a nicely done BF-109 from Chuck Brenner.
Lou
I failed to realize Chuck is a member.
Another member on my Facebook group is Serhhii. He has some pretty spectacular aircraft and this 1967 Rambler Marlin. As he mentioned, it is wood with some printed details.
Lou
Nice. Are some of the details 3D printed?
Yes they are. Do you have a Facebook presence? My Solid Wood Model group is growing with some pretty talented modellers.
Lou
In a word WOW !
Gordon
I agree, many of my Facebook group members are spectacular carvers. I have brought several to SMM, however, none have posted to SMM.
Lou
Lou,
Are you saying the carvers are joining your Facebook group, but do not migrate over to SMM?
Apparently so. SMM is not smart phone friendly so maybe that is one reason they did not post. Regardless, the group just turn 100. It is similar to SMM. Many want to join, but few do any participation. I noticed on other groups as well. They may have hundreds or even thousands of member, and only a handful post their models. I know many may just join so it allows them to see the posts that otherwise would be hidden.
Lou
You need a Facebook account. Garet and Ray are there as well.
