I will begin the Delta Dagger sometime in February. Anyone out there want to make one also? Here is Ken Pugh's magnificent F-102A as a reminder.

Drawings scaled and printed. Wood has been selected and cut to blocks.
Done??????????????????????
Good start, Lou. Don't know about your documentation, but I have the Detail & Scale book on this plane. There are several features that are construction date dependent, e.g. drooped wing tips, canted USAF markings on the side, etc. If you need any help with these let me know and I'll look them up for you.
Thank you Ken. I have lots of data on the Century Series aircraft. I also have quite a few decal sets from my plastic collection. I should be starting soon with gluing the fuselage block as I do not have a single piece thick enough. Same as the wing, lots of glue and then closer cuts and then carving.
Lou
Blocks \re being cut. I found a piece of 1/4 inch wood big enough to do the flying surfaces. The template for the top view has been glued to a cracker box for later cutting.

Block carved parts to the F-102A.

Carving has begun.

Intake tunnels coming out slowly.

Fuselage contoured.

Test fitting the wings to the fuselage resulted in cracking the wing. The grain runs front to rear which is unusual for me but it solved other problems. The speed brakes tail fin are rough carved and the wing tips have the X case shape since I have lots of old decals for that version. Lots of sanding remains.
Lou
Shaping the concave under portion of the wing has its problems. Straight lines(second photo) when viewed from an angle (first photo) shows the contour.
Lou
Two short spars were added to the wing and repair to some damage will take place before gluing the fuselage to the wings. Second photo close up of tail end details.
Lou
Damage repaired. Wing fences will be added this week and then gluing to the fuselage. I hope to have it in the paint shop first week in March.
Lou
Wing fences drying. I placed saw cuts for the first 1/3 inch to embed the fence at the front portion.
Lou
Wings glued and drying. Some minor putty between the wing/fuselage joint and shaping the fuselage wing plug will make her ready for first priming before week's end.
Lou
Priming turned out well with only minor sanding needed.
Lou
Model Master gloss "Aircraft Grey" had to be hand brush as it did not take well to airbrushing. The bottle has sat on the shelf at least 25 years. I will let this cure a few days before progressing on.
Lou
Paint job completed today. Next come making serial number decals as I wish to do a North Dakota ANG Dagger. All other decals are from the F-102A Hasegawa and Matchbox F-101B plastic kits. The arrestor hook is assembled and needs a bit sanding, painting and gluing in place. Anticipated roll out by the weekend.
Lou
Some delays in applying spare's box decals. Seems the 3 decade old kit decals are just falling apart when I try to move them off the paper backing. I have sprayed clear gloss over them and left them to dry overnight. If that doesn't pan out, I will have to make my own.
Lou
Roll out occurred at 1900 hrs 18 Mar 2015. Some of the kit decals were very brittle and had to be covered with clear gloss before emerging in water. Even with that several still broke. Lucky for me, my main interest in plastic was early jets. The F-102A wing was the hardest to carve.
Lou
That's a fine model, Lou!
Thank you Garet. I appreciate your comments.

Very nice indeed Lou. Best regards Paul J.
Thank you Paul.
