Another 1/72 on the bench. This time a Digby bomber.
Despite being underpowered and slow, the 20 Digby Bombers laboured on during WWII doing transport and coastal patrols duties.
On 30 Oct 1942, F/O DF Raymes and crew in Douglas Digby s/n 747 X (later renumbered Z) of No. 10 (Bomber Reconnaissance) Squadron destroyed the German submarine U-520 far out in the Atlantic Ocean.

Wings and fuselage are block shaped.

Major components are shaped and test assembled.
Lou
Does have the Douglas look of the era.
Fraser
Apparently based on a DC-2. Prior experience with my DC-2 and DC-3 helped out.
Lou
The Digby is in the paint shop but will not be completed by year's end. Decals have been constructed, however they are yet to be printed.

First roll out of 2023 on 5 Jan 2023. All white Coastal Command finish make it easy to do decals on clear film.
Lou
Once again a well finished model. The simple paint scheme and markings work well on this aircradr.
