Afternoon All!

Just got this from one of my guys on the "Wings Of Peace" forum.  Sounds like it would be perfect for combining a/c and boats:

This was a high-risk undertaking for launching land planes which then
ditched after their special mission was over (Zeppelin hunting) or to
extend the range of flying boats by launching them closer to the
German coast.
Losses were extremely high even by WW1 standards and not likely to be
useful for scheduled flights - the North Sea in rough weather is not a
nice place.

civilian ships at the time were unable to reach 30kts.

Widerøes floating seaplane base was a 30ies project and I think they
intended to operate in sheltered areas as a mobile forward location.
Interesting to see that they did build a model back then and that they
wanted to have a catamaran - something which came into vogue again not
many years ago.
