Have started a 1/48th  Saab J-29 Tunnan.
I found a set of 1/48 decals that I've had for a while so I will be using those
Pictures to follow.

So that is how you get those super thin intake lips. Another ting I need to try.

Acts as a handle at times too.

That is a great idea for the intakes. That would also be good for cowls, exhausts, etc.

Thanks

I use it for cowlings as well. Use this and then clean it out with a Dremel.

Bit more done on Tunnan. The notes on the aft end are for me. I used a J-29F drawing which has a different rear  end to the B ,Cand E .

I've done it with the E wing which has the "notch".

There were two C's in the Congo with the UN with camouflage and streaks of Orange or sand colour.

There is a colour picture of one of the C's which has the notch . Presents a bit of a challenge.

Looking great. What sealer do you use on the balsa these days?

I swapped over to a acrylic auto primer filler . Does the job.

I'll stick the brand up next time

Depending on what decals I have I am thinking of turning this into a S-29C ( reconnaissance ) Version. Cameras were installed in place of guns . Lower fuselage has a shape change .
Different engine was also used.

Work in progress

Looks like a barrel too. Looking forward to more views of the build.

Where the Tunnan is at.

Modified the nose. Camera's were housed where the 4x 20mm cannons were. I've made up some drop tanks . Held on with blue tac at the moment.
More work need on the rear fuselage and the camera housings .

Cheers
