Title: Photo of Models in Grand Central Station 1943
Post by: Peter on April 17, 2011, 07:44:00 PM
Here is a photo taken at Grand Central Station in 1943. I not sure why this was done. I presume it was to support the war effort. Here is a link to the website where I found it. http://www.shorpy.com/model-flight-1943?size=_original (http://www.shorpy.com/model-flight-1943?size=_original)

This may offer an explanation- http://www.flickr.com/photos/locos_loco_co/5020490256/ (http://www.flickr.com/photos/locos_loco_co/5020490256/) They look like those cardboard ID models that were produced for a while during the war, except they are not the typical black color.

Thats a work of art in itself,it must have taken a lot of effort to not only get the children to build them but whoever hoisted them into the air ! wonderful discovery, thank you.
