Hello gentlemen,

It has been a while since my last post.
Finally had time again to clean up the shed and make myself some hobby room.

Here is the progress on the GeeBee racer I have been working on:

I finished the project yesterday.
Had some time when the wife was out for the weekend  ;D

As requested, some different angles from the model.

I have not used any glue to assemble the model, it is all tight-fit.
One of the disadvantages of this technique, is that only half of the main wing can be painted before assembly.
Made the mistake in the past of painting the entire wing and then finding the paint smeared after assembly.
So the 2nd half of this wing was painted after assembly, which makes painting accurately more difficult.
I am not happy with the lettering on the bottom, but that is a minor detail.

Overall, I am satisfied with the result.

It looks great to me. You mentioned you wanted guidance in building scale models. Check out the post on Novice WWII ID Model Group Build. I will guide you through the entire project.

These models were shown in the old Aeromodeller,they were called 'flatties' also used for aircraft recognition purposes,Aeromodeller showed the Avro Manchester,they could be made from thick card as well.

To paint the model fully before assembly simply cut a slot in the fuselage from underneath,then paint the components,glue and slide in the cut out painted piece,all you have to then is touch up the  cut lines,easier than doing one wing.
