I thought you all might be interested in this box I saw at my local thrift store. It is labeled "US NAVY TEACHER MODELS BOX #1.

I haven't seen identification model kits that opened from the top like this one, so I can't definitively say it was an ID model case.

I can see 1/700 ID Ship models being placed in there. I hope you rescued the box.

An interesting find.
A quick google search reveals there were several boxes in use.

Several appear on auction sites complete to models. Way out of reach for me.
