While researching Australian Sabres I came upon the Black Diamonds aerobatic team I found that these Avon Sabres had the Kangaroo roundel on the fuselage, but the wings retained the RAF type roundels. Can anyone give further information as to why.
Lou
Lou,
Maybe it was to save arguments over which way the Kangaroos should face on the wings? Left, right, forward or rear? Of course correct answer would be upside down :D
Will
Perhaps!!!

Sabres had the 'Roo roundel added from 1955 onwards. As to when the wing roundels were introduced I don't know.
From memory on the wings the legs face toward the fuselage. Probably the sme as the Springbok for SAAF.
Check your home email Lou I've attempted to send you something.
Cheers
