Some progress has been made on the 1/32 Bolingbroke. Paint has been applies and now the details are being fabricated. Exhaust pipes are rough cut and the engine accessories are ready for installation.
I will attempt to remember to provide an updated picture by week's end.

The Argus nacelles are coming along. I had to cut off the front ends and make new cowling rings. Attachment to the wings should follow during the month of July.


The Luscombe 11A is coming along nicely with corrugation being added to the flap area. The elevators are done and being primed. The rudder has just a few pieces to add. The wet primer does not do it proper justice.


New to the project list are two 1/72 P-51D Mustangs and two 1/72 P-47B Thunderbolts. I just felt like making a P-51 and as long as I was doing one, I cut out two. The thunderbolts are just marked out on the board and cutting has not started yet.

It has been quiet on the ping board; thank you for posting!  I'm still here, though with the warm weather, I've been attacking some house repairs and need to fix several bicycles, as the rest of my family is competing in a triathlon in a week or two.  We've spent most evenings recently at a local lake so my wife can do her swim training.  We either spot her from shore or escort in a canoe.  Saturday evening, we practiced canoe rescues and capsizes, and discovered a number of alarming things: our canoe needs more flotation, and my PFD (life jacket) gets waterlogged. 

My workbench is presently covered with various arts and crafts projects, including World Cup tee-shirt printing (which they did while I was at work), and a number of metal-work birthday presents for a relative.

I did finally finish up the handles on some model-construction putty spreaders and have been trying to get my hobby tools organized.  I'm trying to figure out how to add a built-in shop vacuum to my workbench, so I've been looking at various types of vacuum hose.  My models have been on hold except for minor work, though my son just finished a plastic Hawker Typhoon.

Progress slowly continues on the stand for the XL5.  The pedestals and base rails are in place and I am making the lattice structure.  I am trying something new for me and will let others know the procedure, with pics, if it works out.

I have taken on an historic disused wartime airfield fire station size 30 feet by 24 feet as my new super workshop,this historical building on a real historic airfield that was used to repair Whitley bombers was saved in the nick of time from demolition,it was hard work moving in years of materials,benches,thousands of tools etc one half of the building will be used to restore full sized vintage aircraft for museums,the first aircraft is due soon and will need a new set of wings to be made for it from scratch before it goes on display,every rib and spar will be lovingly hand crafted just like my solids,there is still a lot to do on the fabric of this interesting building which has already taken gallons of paint,but the main thing is that I am in and installed surrounded by solid model blanks that will need finishing off,when everything is shipshape then I will take photographs of the exterior and interior,after years of cramped working conditions in sheds etc this place is my dream workshop and for the first time I can actually walk around my work benches.
My work has not gone un-noticed and I get regular visits from interested people who marvel at real models being built and watch me carve away,lots of kind people have also donated wood as well for my timber stash and I have made a point of having models around me in various stages of construction so that they can see what our type of model building is all about,my huge model collection is still located a few yards away within walking distance.
I am retired and can build when I like and what I like,my whole life has revolved around aviation and this is a culmination of all things creative,I am thrilled to say the least of my latest venture that has not only saved a very important historic building but given me a new workshop as well.

It's also nice to have people come by that can appreciate models instead of the old "I don't have patience for that" crowd.

Maybe when planes are inside we might be able to see some pics of the rebuilds?  I, for one, love shots of the interior of aircraft because I want to get to building miniatures with accurate interiors.  Without access to tons of blueprints photos sure help.

The way you crank them out it's great to have more display space!

Pete, I saw your Yukon in the gallery. Almost missed it because we had quite a few photos added lately. Nice job on a not too well known Canadian Forces transport. Too bad we did not keep one for the Ottawa or Trenton museum.

Mid month report. I purchase a couple of pin boards at a yard sale for a buck. I am always scrambling to remember what is going on on my bench to make my ping reports. This should solve the problem of forgetting what is buried under the numerous pieces bits and pieces on my bench.

I have since added the 1/32 scale CF-100. Yesterday I printed 1/32 scale drawings using 15 pages of paper. I need to cut and paste a bit, but so far the measurements look ok.
