Amco Ship Models

Ray,

Thank you for posting the Amco ship models.  It is interesting how they have you stack up parts that could have been printed on the printwood sideways (such as the carrier).  It looks like the island is a bit thicker than the printwood.  I see on the submarine, they did split the sail in two.

I think the printwood is 1/8th in. But it is so rough and ratted it's hard to tell. I think if you were to use 1/8th in birch ply you would probably get a better result. At 3 3/4 in they would be a good evening project. Interesting to figure out what class each was. They are dated 1939.

AMC_Kit_Y5_Destroyer is DD-387 USS Blue, a Bagley-class Destroyer

The submarine appears to be the USS K-2, later SS-33.  She was commissioned in 1914.
