Here is some clarification on maple leaf use on Canadian military aircraft. Note the RCAF Silver Maple Leaf was also used by the Canadian Army.

You are welcomed Fraser. I saw another WWII era Johnny Johnson Spitfire sporting a post 64 leaf. I sent the modeller the same data. Incidentally, he also had the red leaf where as Spitfire JEJ had a green leaf. I am turning into a rivet counter!!
