Some progress.

Decals done. Wing struts have been done and have been pinned ready for fitting.

The guns are a work in progress.

The only thing glued at the moment is the lower wing. Everything else is clipped on or attached with Blu tack.

I've ordered some turnbuckles so will wait and see on them.

The unpainted barrel for one gun is one that I used some earthing( grounding ) strap on.

The drawings show the guns angled toward the fuselage. Need to check this and the mounting.
Cheers Gordon

It's coming along nicely!! Excellent work on the ribbing. The decals look great.

Thank you everyone. Everything is just rolling along with it.

The fuselage stripe is masked and painted. Cleaning up done slowly with a fine brush.
There is a fuselage number decal to be applied yet.

Cheers

I've lumped the Flycatcher and CH 1 together in this shot.

The lower wing on the CH1 has now been glued .The wing struts are in position but not glued. I've since started the lower wing fillet.
I still have to make up the rigging attachments and am still thinking about the oil coller.

The Flycatcher since this picture has had the cabane struts glued in place. The wing struts have been painted and the number decal has been applied to the fuselage band
So I'll do the rigging on the cabane struts , add the windscreen and Aldis sight before adding the top wing. Still waiting for the turnbuckles to arrive.
Looking at the tracking them it would appear that rather than going Melbourne - Canberra its somehow says its in Darwin ( thats the top end).

Upper wing and tailplane attached.
Store bought turnbuckles installed rigging to commence next time.

Cockpit does look a bit spartan so I'll think about how to fill it up.
Engine needs some small details added.
Guns and mountings need to be finished.

Just looked at the date I started this .... 7 years

Anyway nearly done.

Cheers

Gordon
