Hi, been making those 1/18 scale for the past 10-12 years. Span range from 23 in. to 48 in. ( Staggerwing ;23 in. ,Sikorsky S-38 ; 48 in.). Use basswood for fuselage, cedar for wings and dowel for struts, etc. Give 2 coats of sealers, 2 coats of primer, 2 coats of paint  and 2 coats of clear coat. Use a 4 in. wheel coaster for swiveling and 1/2 in. threaded rod for attachmnet to garage...Like canadian bush plane, made quite a few in many scale a per our museum airplane here in Winnipeg. Hope "things" went through OK since I have problem with computer. Have a train layout (HO scale), so naturally have many solid wood models on water and those weathervanes from past year have a rest under ceiling above layout...Cheers. Guy.
