Painting the markings.

The weather has been really warm with no wind these past few days so armed with lots of Auto rattle can aerosols I set about adding some colour to a few models that are in the grey primer stages,here you see the individual markings being painted onto the wings,firstly I get my reference material together and have scrap wood steadying platforms positioned on the bench,the paint is mixed up well and thinners at the ready,once the guide masking lines are in place I flex my now arthritic fingers for a few minutes and apply the outlines to the letters first,then the inners are filled in and the paint allowed to flow out nicely,painting by hand is not for the feint hearted but it can be accomplished with practise and patience,I also enjoy the effect of painted roundals etc which will be dealt with when I do a batch of military machines.

Nice work Barry. I prefer to do a decal, but larger numbers would be easier using your method.
