I decided on this after Lou started the Zero.
Still can't find the plan I had so went with the Richard Ferriere drawing.
Slowly emptying the scrap box.
Undercarriage is 1.5mm ply faced with balsa.
I was going to do the cowling separate but it all seems to be working out.
Cheers

Very nicely done. Novel idea for the undercarriage.

You are getting me going.
This has progressed somewhat . In parallel with the Shrike.
Hopefully post a pic tomorrow.

Has progressed somewhat.
I decided that making a template and cutting out a windscreen was a bit too fiddly. Decided on "crash " moulding,
Made up a plug ,attached to a skewer . Held vertical in a homemade hole cutter with a bit of tissue for wadding.
Initially had the plastic between some bulldog clips but got a wee bit hot.
With the help of my wife and some gloves a passable result was eventually achieved. Its a matter of watching what the heats doing to the plastic.
Having gained a little confidence I will have a go at a canopy plug I've had finished for a while.
All that remains to be done is attach the windscreen. Pilot figure has been carved up from a piece of basswood.

Great paint job. I have not had any luck with forming canopies so congratulation on yours.

Thanks Lou,
No that I have a little confidence I'll try doing a 1/48 Vampire canopy later on.

Claude is finished. Used Super glue on windscreen hence a wee bit of snowing.
Overall a nice little model to build.
