Must be my up coming birthday that prompted my recollection of my brother Henri showing me the difference between ballistic and guided missiles. I believe it was my 8th or 9th birthday when Henri brought out some empty toilet paper and wax paper rolls and proceeded to make something similar to the photos posted below. He explained that guided missile were guided by radio waves right up to the target. (long before computer programs that guide Tomahawk cruise missiles). The ballistic missile had its targeting set at launch with speed, altitude, direction carefully calculated. When the rocket engine quit, it was on its own falling back to earth on the intended target. I never forgot that evening and a lesson well taught.

The missiles below benefited from computer drawings, plastic toothpaste cover and medicine dispensing cups. The memories are genuine.
