Title: Some old drawings (not 3-views)
Post by: dave_t on February 11, 2010, 08:15:34 PM
Okay, this has nothing to do with solid models. I just ran across some of my old drawings which were done between the ages of 7 and 10. I also have one of the submarine "USS Perch" in action and a battle scene of the "USS Truk Lagoon".

Nice. I still have some drawings from the late 1960s somewhere. I doult they would stand up against yours. Thanks for sharing.

Pretty good ,Dave. hang on to them. It reminds me that I've got some old copies of the Jimmy Allen Club newspapers going back to the early '40s and - I think this would be a group that might be interested from a nostalgic point of view - a copy of "How to Fly by Captain Sparks".

I found a profile of the Fokker D.XXI that matches my drawing. In fact, I bet I copied from this same illustration...

It may be a while Barry. But if I can get it all uploaded - and its permissible - soon as I can. (Wish there were more members taking part and just exchanging ideas. Its a good group.)

Absolutely no hurry Cliff,it is just that this old material is so fascinating, those times will never return, the Golden years of aviation when flying was such a thrill, today everyone is so blase about aviation as they book their budget holidays.

I could not agree more about the latter,we appear to have quite a membership but could do with more participation as that is where the fun lies,I check in perhaps twice a day but rarely see that many new postings ?

Even if no full solid then build sequences are great to follow,I usually break these down into-Wood blanks/templates on the bench, carve and sand sequence,assembly/jigging,sanding seal and grey coat, final paint, completed pictures,I think that way it adds more interest that way.
