Lou, you can add two 1/144 models to the MotY. list. The ones with decals are finished.
Half the year is almost done with and we have 37 models on display in the Construction folder. That is assuming I have not forgotten anybody.
Lou
This has been an interesting half year with such a wide variety of subjects to show already,I was just thinking how good they would all look on a table at some model show displayed together,Lou would it be possible to do a montage picture of some sort at the end of the year showing the fruits of all our labours together ? combined with what we have here it would make for a great record, not sure how it can be done but someone versed in a paint programme would probably manage to come up with something ? food for thought anyway.
Barry.
Montages were my favorite subject in MS Word classes. I will do one. Unfortunately I am limited to 22" X 22" due to my program.
Lou
Barry's got a great idea. And Lou should be able to do a good job with it to promote the Group.
Cliff.
So great positive thoughts already on this idea, and just think we could also place a few of these montages on some of the other modelling groups at the end of the year to show our output and what we are doing to keep solids alive.
Barry.
First draft at make a collage. I just downloaded a bunch of pics. The placement will change to make the presentation more appealing to view.
Lou that looks great ! thats a good first effort.
Barry.
One could group them by era, type, or builder etc...
Lou
Excellent idea Lou,they do look most attractive grouped together like this.
Barry.
Good job so far Lou. And thanks again - on behalf of all our members if I might - for all the time you have taken away from your other activities in order to contribute to the Group.
Cliff.
Cliff, all fun parts of the hobby.
Lou
A few new pictures have been added in Pete's and Peter's sections.
Lou
60 models at last count.
Lou
To avoid last minute rush for postinf this year's models, please review the 2011 Model Construction post for completeness. I even forgot one of mine.
Lou
I have a bit of a dilemma here, lots of models in primer awaiting completion with paintwork and the damper weather is un-suitable for painting as well,do I carry them over to 2012 ?
Barry.
Yes, please hold them until they are completed. You will start off ther new year with quite a few.
Lou
Lou can you check out the broken link in Daves pictures, there is a dreaded 'x' so perhaps the source images have been moved ? and can you add the last minute Blackburn Beverley solid that was completed last week for me,thank you.
Barry.
Beverley was added earlier this morning. Dave's model come up as x because he removed them from the gallery. Those that remain are in my gallery.
Lou
Can you please check Lou,I see that you have visited but nothing showing this end ?
Thank you,Barry.
Must have forgotten to select save.
Lou
Please note I merged Additions to this thread.
Year end coming pretty soon. I don't anticipate having any more models completed as I have a pretty full schedule until the new year. I will continue to accept photos for 2011 until mid Jan 2012.
LOu
So far I have 68 models featured for 2011.
Lou
Is anyone contemplating adding to the 2011 Construction photos? Also, please view what is there and let me know if I missed some.
lou
Lou,
You can add the Heston racer and the Payen.
Cheers
Gordon
We have 75 models displayed in our 2011 album. Please select your top 3 in order of preference and reply to this post. I will also ask my other group friends to send their comments directly to me for posting.
Lou
#1. Lou's Canadair CC-106
#2. Jeff H's Grumman F9F-6
#3. Ken Pugh's North American B-25J
Mark
My choice for 2011 is as follows-
Lou's Comet 1
Jeffs F9F-6 Cougar
Kens B-25
Barry.
I can see 75 models I'd vote for! ;)
If you are going to hold me to three (you are), then:
Lou's Goshawk
Ken's B-25
Jeff's F9F-6 Cougar
I have a Yahoo Group vote from JL
1. Pete's CL-84
2. Pete's CC-138.
Lou
Hi
My votes would be for:
Jeff's Panther Oops Cougar
Ken's B-25
Barry's (balsabasher's) BE2c (Barry, if only you'd done a Renault-engined one with skids so it would look like the Wings TV planes / models it would be my definite no.1! I love Barry's other WW1 efforts as well as the lovely Miles aircraft he's done but someone has to stick up for the poor old BE a century on from when it was the best plane around)
If a restoration counts then Mark B's P-80 looks pretty sharp!
Regards
Will (needing to get back to the balsa again)
Jeff's F9F-6
Barry's BA Eagle
Lou's Peashooter
Ken Pugh
From Ron Hunt Mil-Air Group
1 - Piaggio Royal Gull
2 - Piper Clipper
3 - F9F6 Cougar
Here's my three:
1 - Jeff's Cougar;
2 - Mark's P80;
3 - Lou's Comet.
Cliff.
Larry Stagman from Mil-Air
1 Airtoon Red Arrow.. by Lou.. love this one
# 2 1/72 DH-106 Comet Mk 1... by Lou
# 3 P-51D ...by Cliff..
Here's my vote:
1 - Jeff's F9F-6;
2 - Lou's Comet;

Congratulations to all who participated in the model of the year. But especially to Jeff for, again showing how it's done with his excellent Cougar and, of course to all the others: Lou, Ken and Mark. What more does Scratch Building have to do to prove that it deserves greater societal regard?
Cliff.
Well done to everyone, the winning entries are very worthy and represent the quality of work we all enjoy doing,a super year for diverse subjects, nothing restricts us in the solid modelling field, bravo !
Barry.
